Easter Sunday

The Only Reason

"...there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent." Mosiah 3:17

Easter Sunday is a great day to spend with the family, eating a nice meal, dyeing eggs, having easter egg hunts....But Really when it's all said and done, those things can in no way compare with the real reason of Easter. Easter is the most miraculous day we could EVER celebrate...this being because all that we cherish in this life can be our joy for eternity, due to one fact: Jesus Christ suffered, died, and was resurrected for me, for my family. I am so grateful for His perfect Atonement. Because of that act, I know the Lord understands all my needs. He lives. And He invites us to live close to Him. We just have to Want it.... and then Live for it. --Krystal

4 Generations of Fun

So we spent most of this past week doing things with my Mom and Grandma who flew up from OK to visit us. They just loved seeing lil Kily and spending every possible moment with her. During their visit, we took pictures of Kily, took a guided BYU tour, took pictures, ate lots of ice cream, shopped for my sister's wedding dress, took even more pictures, and last but not least--- introduced my mom AND grandma to the game RockBand! You must take a look below at the picture of my sweet, innocent 80 yr old Grandma on the guitar! Jose was kind enough to teach her how to play :) Needless to say, I had a great week with my family that ended all too soon.

Daily Life

So I've been wanting to add another post lately, but felt like I had little to say. Kily and I are having fun each day but just doing the same routine... changing her diaper, playing, feeding her, putting her down for a nap (only to pick her up 2 seconds later it seems!)...and the cycle continues all day. While it could be easy to get lost in the daily routine of my life, I'm trying to set goals that will help me see past the walls of my living room. It'd be easy to sit back and say that I currently don't have a way to make a difference in the "outside" world because I'm home all day with my sweet baby. However, I can see that it is when we are going about our daily routine, that we are given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives' of others, if we take it, and then we can be a tool in the Lord's hands. I am grateful this week for being able to be a friend.

Blog Relevance: A Message to our Readers

I must admit, I (Jose) was hesitant to start "blogging" in its truest sense. Initially, when we started this blog it was intended to bridge the distance between our family and friends as Krystal and I became engaged. Part of my hesitation lay in adding to the superficialness that can sometimes exist in a blogger's newest post about the latest trip to the supermarket, the new "news" about the unimportant, the latest basketball game, etc. etc. Now, don't get me wrong--I am not at all implying that somehow, what I have to say is more relevant or important than what other bloggers have to say. In fact, I have been inspired by the various blogs I have read from our various friends and family. What I mean to say, is that our goal is write MORE than simply the superficial aspects of our lives, share the latest pictures of Kily(though I am sure there will be plenty of that), or about our latest trip to Rome (I wish)--this blog first and foremost is to share our ideas, thoughts, feelings, philosophies, hopes, and faith with those that are closest to us. As Fran Lebowitz once commented, "Great people talk about ideas, average people talk about things, and small people talk about wine".

Though we look forward to sharing some of the ins and outs of our daily lives, the latest pictures and videos of Kily, as well as various aspects of our lives--we hope you will gain much more than a better understanding of who we are--but rather, that you will gain a better understanding of who you are.
