1. The Kite Runner: This movie is about the relationship between two friends who grow up in a war-torn community. It has a strong message about friendship and loyalty, but most importantly to me, it really opened my eyes to the harsh reality of war-and the effects it has on those who live surrounded by it everyday of their lives. How blessed we are to live in a country where freedom prevails and the wars that go on to defend us are not occurring in our community. FYI while this movie starts off with 2 young boys, it is not a kid's movie!
2. Bella: The movie left me completely inspired. So I'm not going to tell you any details about this movie because I want you to discover it for yourself. It's an independent film, so you may not have heard about it, we randomly selected it at Redbox one night. The only thing I'll say is it's a story about love-real love. And if you have any appreciation for hispanic culture, I think you'll like it even more. Go see it!!!!
So, there you have it. I know these aren't really "reviews" since I didn't actually discuss the movie....but I hate giving away the details of a movie before you see it. So, go rent them, and then we can talk! I think you can get them both at Redbox (which means you only pay $1 to see a powerful, wholesome movie!) Enjoy ;)

Krystal-I would have to agree with your reviews of both of these movies. My husband and I have watched both of them within the past 6 months and we really enjoyed them both. Kiterunner I would have to say was harder for me to watch because I'm a little tender hearted and it deals with some pretty heavy material. Bella was well...beautiful. It makes me really appreciate people who use their talents to touch people's lives and share their messages.
I agree, KiteRunner does deal with very heavy material....but I'm so glad you loved Bella too! It makes my heart happy just thinking about it:)
I will have to talk PJ into making a trip to the RedBox... is that what it is called? We have never used it, but I know people who have. We will have to give it a try.

Krystal! I love that you included movie reviews! :) I too really liked "Bella", we rented it not really knowing what it was about at all, and it was a pleasant surprise. I love the "Hispanic flare" to it. It reminded me of our glorious Riverside days! (By the way, my little brother is serving in the TSAM right now, and just got transferred to Riverside! I think he's in Riverside D.) I tried to watch part of "Kiterunner" but I had a hard time reading a movie (I'm such a little kid!), but Kyle and all of our friends who have seen it just rave about it.
